Personal Report

Your Mental Load Profile

Mental load is the thinking work that keeps things running for the people around you—i.e., planning, deciding, noticing what needs doing, and remembering. It's separate from hours worked, physical tasks completed, and emotions felt. This report reflects what you told us about that thinking work, split between home and work.

What this measures

Three things mental load is and isn't

01

Cognitive

This is thinking work, not how tired, stressed, or emotionally drained you feel, and not physical effort.

02

Prosocial

It's thinking work that benefits others, not tasks you do purely for yourself.

03

Goal-directed

It's aimed at a specific, desired outcome, not idle or wandering thought.

Reflect

A few questions worth sitting with

Is the balance between home and work mental load something you've chosen, or something that's crept up on you?
Does the amount of Monitoring & Anticipating you do feel visible to the people who benefit from it?
If you pictured handing off one type of this thinking work to someone else, which would it be?
